Curriculum Overview

Overview of the Project GUTS curriculum.

Every semester, a 10-week Project GUTS unit is offered through an afterschool club that meets once a week. Meetings are roughly two hours in duration and take place in a classroom setting.

In the Fall semester, the 10-week unit consists of 4 weeks of starter lessons that introduce Complex Adaptive Systems, agent-based modeling, and computer science concepts and constructs, followed by a 6-week topical unit.

In the Spring semester, the 10-week unit consists of 4 weeks of intermediate lessons that build upon students' Complex Adaptive Systems understanding, introduce additional agent-based modeling constructs, and practice mathematical concepts, followed by a 6-week topical unit.
